HOMA SERVICE AT SHINCHOJI INNER SANCTUM 真澄寺奥の院護摩供

As Shinnyo Keishu Sama announced at the November Kyoen-kai, next year on February 8th
she will conduct a Homa ritual inside the Shinchoji inner sanctum to mark the new beginning of our
sangha. The purpose of this Homa is for us all to succeed to the wish of Kyodoin Sama, who laid the
spiritual foundation of Shinchoji, and the wish of Shindoin Sama, whose spiritual faculty
expressed the spirit of immovability of Achala. The Homa is also for extending Saisho, Shoju, and
Bakku-daiju, the spiritual liberation that the Ever-Present Shinnyo Parents and the Two Dojis,
expand far and wide. The name of the service will be: “Shojushinin Centennial Year: Homa at
the Shinchoji Inner Sanctum to Mark the Founding of the Shinnyo Path”. Shinnyo Keishu
Sama said in the Kyoen-kai that this Homa will mark the beginning of a new era for our sangha.
Let us unite in our sincere efforts so that the Homa will be held successfully.

Famous Temple in Japan Donates Two Million Bath to Help Thai Flood Victims.

A monk from Wat Paknum receives 5 million yen from the Shinnyo-en Temple in Japan to help the flood victims in Thailand.

On November 4th the Shinnyo-en temple of Japan, which has more than one million members around the world, donated 5 million Yen (2 million Thai Baht) to Somdej Pramaharatchamungkarajarn, Archilmandrite of Wat Paknum Paseajareun. The 5 million yen donation was handed to the monk personally by Keishu sama, head of the Shinnyo-en temple, Japan to help the temple and the flood victims in Thailand.
Somdej Pramaharatchamungkarajarn remarked, “Wat Paknum and the Shinnyo-en temple have had a good relationship for 50 years. I am thankful for being allowed to visit the Shinnyo-en temple, and I appreciate that Keishu sama has donated money to support the flood victims. This donation reflects the sincerity of all of their Buddhists. Many people have had to leave their homes since they are under the water. I believe that when the Thai people receive this help from the Shinnyo-en temple, it will relieve some of their suffering. As a representative of the Thai people, I would like to thank the Japanese people who have demonstrated great generosity to the Thai people on during this crisis.”
Keishu sama said, “The Shinnyo-en temple has heard the news from media that Thailand was experiencing a flood disaster. We thought that we should donate money to help the victims by giving this amount to Somdej Pramaharatchmungkarajarn. He will manage this money for helping the temple and people.”

Central Park Cleaning Gohoshi Updates

Hello Everyone! This coming Saturday Oct. 22nd we will be doing a Gohoshi cleaning in Manhattan's Central Park. There is a wonderful vibe at this Gohoshi so please come if you have time. Everyone is welcome followers and non-followers, all ages EXCEPT children (sorry!). There is still plenty of space, please email dmmclean@gmail.com if you would like to come. We will be meeting at East 97th St and Fifth Avenue at 9:30 am Saturday morning. We will head into the park together. If you have difficulties or arrive late, please call David McLean at 917-514-4806. This will be a weeding project in an area that is extremely overgrown. Please dress appropriately for getting dirty. Closed toe shoes are a must. We recommend long sleeve shirt and long pants. The Conservancy will provide the gloves and tools needed as well as water for everyone. The cleaning will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. See you there!

Directions from the Consercancy to get to work site (although we will meet together beforehand!). Please enter the Park at Fifth Avenue and 97th Street. Take the pedestrian pathway straight to the east drive (top of short set of stairs). Cross the east drive at the traffic light and take either the pedestrian pathway or the bridle path on your left up the hill. At the top of the hill, look to you right and you will see the white Consercancy van.
