Special Consolatory Service in February (2/26 in NY)

As some of you may have heard in recent words of guidance by Her Holiness Keishu-sama, there will be a special emphasis on the upcoming Spiritual Consolatory service that is held on February 4 in Japan.  Due to scheduling, we plan to observe this service on the date you as you see on the February schedule, which will be Sunday, February 26.

“Shojushinin Centennial Year: Homa at the Shinchoji Inner Sanctum to Mark the Founding of the Shinnyo Path”

A friendly reminder that the service on Wed Feb 8 will be a special Homa ritual held inside the Shinchoji inner sanctum to mark the new beginning of our sangha. The purpose of this Homa is for us all to succeed to the wish of Kyodoin, who laid the spiritual foundation of Shinchoji, and the wish of Shindoin, whose spiritual faculty
expressed the spirit of immovability of Achala. The Homa is also for extending the powers we call "Saisho, "Shoju," and "Bakku-daiju," the spiritual liberation that the Ever-Present Shinnyo Parents and the Two Dojis, expand far and wide. 


The name of the service will be: “Shojushinin Centennial Year: Homa at the Shinchoji Inner Sanctum to Mark the Founding of the Shinnyo Path”. 

Homa requests can be made towards this occasion by members as well as non-members.  
Requests will be accepted through February 8th.

2012 Winter Training: Middle Period Daily Theme & Activities

During the MIDDLE PERIOD of this year's Winter Training, we plan to provide opportunities for new people to learn and touch upon the basics of the Shinnyo Teachings.

“Shinnyo Buddhism 101” is a day to introduce people new to Shinnyo-en to some of the basic concepts of our practice while we focus on key themes that we may all face from day to day.  There will be a short talk by the guest speaker, Q&A session, a chance to experience guided meditation, and time for informal discussions.

On the services on Jan 24 and 28, there will be special opportunities for those new to Shinnyo-en to experience “sesshin,” one of the core trainings for practitioners.  As you may have heard, there is a special campaign for newly connected members to receive “sesshin” on either Jan 24 or 28 if s/he attends just one day of the opening period of Winter Training at any of the host locations.

There will also be live testimonies given by members on these days.

Sesshin Training during middle period of WT 2012!

As we made announcements during the New Year’s Service, we are happy to let you know that there will be a special opportunity to receive sesshin training as a beginner during the middle period of Winter Training this year. 

Please refer to the details below:

For those who are already connected but have not received sesshin yet,

if they attend even one day of opening period they are eligible for sesshin during set dates established during the middle period.

However, this is a special “campaign” only during winter training; after the period is over, one will need to fulfill the regular requirements (of attendance) towards receiving sesshin training.

入信している、まだ接心を頂いていない方が、開白に一回でも立ち会っていらっしゃれば、接心を頂く事が出来ます。

ただし、この規定は寒修行中だけで、その後、通常の接心を頂くには、今迄通りの接心が頂ける帰苑回数が必要になります。
