2011 Hawaii Water Consolatory Service & Lantern Floating Attendance

In general

1.     If you wish to attend the Water Consolatory Service or Lantern Floating Hawaii Memorial Day please contact the nearest temple. Deadline:  May 15th , 2011
2.     Please be in fit condition to attend.  If you are not feeling well, inform a gohoshi person.  If you are taking medication, do not forget to bring it with you.
3.     In the locations where the ceremonies are held, please follow the guide. Please attend with gratitude in any situation.
4.     Please be careful of traffic accidents and prepare things well in advance.
5.     Please be considerate to others at the Hawaii temple, the Hawaii Convention Center and the Beach Park since non-members are able to attend the lantern floating. 
6.     At all times do not forget Shinnyo manners by being considerate to others especially in the lobby, inside airplane, hotel, restaurants, etc.
7.     Please do not burden the local members.
8.     Please keep your inquiries to Shinnyo-en Hawaii office to as minimal as possible.


Hawaii Water Consolatory Service

(Followers and their children may attend)
   Time: May 28, 2011, 3 pm
         
             Place: Hawaii Convention Center
               1801 Kalakaua Avenue
               Honolulu, Hawaii  96815
(Attendance at the Main Temple will be by special ticket only)    

2.     The water consolatory service and the lantern floating will be held in English. 
There will be no translation available.

3.     Paying Respects (Omairi) at Main Temple will be on May 29th, Sunday, from 2:00- 5:00 pm and May 31st, Tuesday from 10:00-5:00 pm.
Taxi for your return , if needed, will be arranged by the temple, so please notify a gohoshi person when you need one.



Lantern Floating Hawaii Memorial Day


1.     Time and place
 Lantern Floating
Hawaii Memorial Day  
  Time: May 30, 2011, 6:30pm   
         
   Place: Ala Moana Beach Park

2.     Robes and Okesa will not be worn at the Lantern Floating. Please do not chant at the beach.  It may be hot, and you will be seated on the sand so please dress casually.

3.     Portable toilets will be available at the Ala Moana Beach Park.  However, since the number is limited, please control your water intake accordingly.

4.     It gets hot during the day but may get cold after sunset so you may want to bring a light jacket.
